BILTON overseas Shane Murdoch is gunning for bogey side Green Lane tomorrow when the two sides collide in West Yorkshire (1.30pm start).
Murdoch admits he’s been frustrated by the terrible English summer this season but with five games left and a relegation scrap on their hands the Aussie is determined to finish with a bang.

Miles Corish’ side are currently just one place and two p
oints above the dropzone and Murdoch knows they simply must perform in the business end to survive.

“With Si Clemerson, Paul Cannings and Dougie Hastings all out it’s up to the rest of the big guns to step up,” said Murdoch.

“It’s so important for us we perform until the end of the season. We’ve got five games left and we have to win three of them so we’ll be looking to do that starting tomorrow.

“We’ve got players missing but it just means the young lads like James Ford have a chance to come in and show what they can do.”

Murdoch is desperate to end his first year in England on a high note and hopefully scalp the wickets or smash the runs that will lead Bilton to the safety zone.

“I think 40 wickets may just be beyond me now but I’m definitely looking to get 18 from the next five games,” continued Murdoch.

“If I get 35 by the end of the season I’d be happy but I’d also like to chip in with a few runs too.”

Bilton’s proposed fixture against local rivals BECKWITHSHAW was called off last Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch.

Ben Quick’s side welcome fifth placed North Leeds tomorrow.

Meanwhile in Division Two top of the table KNARESBOROUGH will all but guarantee their promotion to the Aire Wharfe top flight if they win their away clash at close rivals Steeton tomorrow.

The promotion race was blown wide open on Saturday when Steeton somehow dodged the rain to pick up a six-point win over Harden to stay third, eight points behind Adam Pryor’s men but will know a full point win will close the gap to two points.

‘Boro’s proposed derby clash against FOLLIFOOT was washed out last weekend with Paul Angove’s men looking to return to winning ways at home to Bardsey.
