Having a smashing time at the Birstwith Show!

CROWDS gathered in Birstwith for the 114th annual show which was blessed with bright sunshine and soaring temperatures.
After show princess Laura Mansfield cut the ribbon to officially open Birstwith Show, guests were treated to Pete Lawless White’s suitcase circus, sheepdog trials and Harrogate Hornets’ cheerleading display.

Among the groups taking part in activities throughout the day was Harrogate and Ripon Traditional Taekwondo Club. Club instructor Kambiz R Ali gave a running commentary about the display which saw green, red and blue-belt students performing various punches and kicks.

The ladies team showed their skills at breaking boards using both hands and feet and the juniors demonstrated breaking boards with their bare hands.
